Role

Zuid-Afrikaans Hospital is seeking a highly organised, proactive, and technically minded Technical & Clinical Engineering Administrative Assistant to join our Technical & Clinical Engineering Department.


This role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong administrative skills, excellent computer literacy, and an interest in technical operations to provide administrative support within a dynamic hospital environment.


Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Technical & Clinical Engineering Department.
  • Coordinate meetings, manage service calendars and manage departmental calendars.
  • Handle correspondence with suppliers, service providers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service reports, equipment registers, and departmental documentation.
  • Assist with procurement processes, including obtaining quotations, processing purchase orders, and tracking invoices.
  • Monitor outstanding maintenance requests and job cards and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Support compliance, accreditation, audit, and statutory documentation requirements.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of administrative systems and processes to improve departmental efficiency and record management.
  • Compile reports, track departmental performance indicators, and assist with data management as required.

Education

  • Grade 12 / Matric. 

Experience and Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in an administrative, coordination or support role.
  • Strong computer literacy with proven proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in developing, maintaining and improving administrative systems and processes.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Previous experience in a technical, engineering, maintenance or healthcare environment will be a distinct advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of technical terminology, equipment and maintenance procedures will be advantageous.
